I’ve crashed, broke 6 ribs, my collar bone, concussion, helmet broken in half, but my Gary fisher marlin was ok😁, I’m 71 now had to adjust my riding 👍👌

I ride carbon frame carbon wheels and bars I crash A LOT, concussions smashed ribs a 10" scar and metal and screws hold my shoulder together but I've never broken my bike. The only thing I have broken is my dropper post and that's not carbon 😊

Seems like a moth to a flame 🔥...This is mostly why you look 3-4 moves ahead when driving a car or any other vehicle 😛, to avoid any unplanned situation's Carbon bikes are very reliable and durable, but like anything built, it can't always prevent negligence from the it's user . From what I see, please correct me if I am wrong, I believe the aluminum frame would've prevented the crash and could of also cracked on side impact. Conclusion : You just can't blame it on the carbon bikes !

Carbon is a material with no deformity what it's called in english. let me explain, so a material always has a breaking point. before that breaking point it bends and deforms. Carbon is stronger and doesn't deform but when it does eventually break it's instant

I Will stick with metal. Carbon carrys a premium price tag if you want quality. As some body pointed out who works with Carbon you have no idea after and crash impact about the the state of the of the frame after such an impact. Its is also differcult to re-cycle though every material as its enviromental impact.and I am not sure the gains waight and stiffness wise compared to a good speced not Corbon Bike to price difference justifie paying the much higher pricing outside of compertion.
